Cape Point and Peninsula
A stop at Cape Point gives the visitor the opportunity to boast of having been at the most south-westerly point of Africa, where the cold Benguela and the warm Agulhus currents (west and east respectively) meet. Some 26 shipwrecks have been recorded at Cape Point, some of them presenting good diving spots. A finucular takes visitors on scenic trips to an old lighthouse and the spot is a bird watcher’s paradise.

Winelands

Option 1: Fun and informative
For a fun-filled day, get onto the bus, head out to Paarl for a cellar tour and wine tasting, where the finer points of wine tasting will be revealed to you – you will pass as a wine connoisseur after this! Visit a cap classique (SA champagne) cellar and have another tasting before heading out for a deliciously cooked farm-style lunch on another estate. Another 2 Stellenbosch estates are visited and the day ends with a taste of South African brandy. This trip does not claim to be No 1 for Fun without reason!

Option 2: Cycle the winelands
Visit Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek with a tasting in each region and one cellar tour. Get onto a bicycle during the course of the day and cycle the winelands after you have enjoyed your picnic lunch.
